Do you love all the beauty and bounty of summer in the Midwest?

The seven villages of the Amana Colonies are picturesque and unique in any season. In summer, flowers are blooming everywhere; bright, charming and showy.

We've created two special days in the summer to showcase some of the gardens in the area.

Tomorrow, July 22, is the second one.

If you missed them this year, I created this video to show you a glimpse of the day we call "Colonies in Bloom".

Enjoy! This is the first year for Die Heimat to participate in the tour of gardens. But our flowers are beautiful and we are happy to share what we've created over the past 9 years.

Plan to come next year to enjoy these special days.

A bonus tomorrow, the second Colonies in Bloom, is the Garden Party that will be held at the end of the day. At 5:00 at the Amana Museum yard, there will be music, food, and yard games to enjoy to wrap up the day.
