But how much do you know about the history of the colonies?

Here are three good ways to learn more on your next visit. Don't leave without learning the fascinating story of these seven little villages located here in the Iowa River Valley.

1. Visit the museum. Watch the 20 minute video. Go through the buildings and read the displays.
2. Take the Village Voyage Tour that leaves from the Visitor's Center in Amana. $25/person or $22/person for a group of eight or more. Tours begin for the season on May 1- end of October and run Monday-Saturdays.
3. Download the Amana Colonies App to your phone. Get it from your app store. It has tons of information. You can take a driving tour or a walking tour and learn about many locations of historical interest.
